What We Do

WNCBEST works with families, related professionals, and educators in order to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and related developmental differences.

Our MISSION is to help people with ASD, their families and the communities in which they live learn and enjoy life.

ABA Services

INTENSIVE INTERVENTION

20 to 30 hours a week based on principles of applied behavior analysis. Includes a trained team working with your child and family to implement evidence-based intervention.

  • In-clinic services: ages 3 to 12
  • Home-based services: ages 3 to 12

Individualized curriculum addresses skills in the areas of:

  • Language and Speech
  • Cognitive/Academic Goals
  • Social Skills
  • Self-help Skills

Expected length of treatment averages 2 years in home, community and school settings.

FAMILY TRAINING

Family Training (10 hours/month) based on principles of applied behavior analysis.

Family training includes in-home and community based teaching to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorders gain consistency with behavior, language and speech skills, cognitive/academic goals, social, and self-help skills.

WNC BEST will provide family members with tools that can best support positive behavior change.

Expected length of treatment will vary according to child and family needs.

GROUP TRAINING

The staff of WNC BEST will provide training seminars to groups of 3 or more people with a focus on helping individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

  • Peer and Social Interaction Skills
  • Community Inclusion
  • How to Shape Skills
  • Motivation and Reinforcement
